I have a significant amount of respect and appreciation for the many matchup summary stat sheets that appear on twitter and the wider web, and those that proliferate them. Indeed, I am a ravenous consumer of such content. However, I believe that there may be a better way to summarize how teams matchup against each other than simple summary statistics, which is to project the various summary stats that contribute to the outcome of a game.
The CBCR2 Quickie projections use a vast database of advanced metrics - many created by myself and unknown to the outside world - as well as state-of-the-art machine learning linear regression techniques to project eleven statistical categories. Here are the results:
